counselling_journalAPEX Medical had a vision to extend the purpose of helping people beyond the equipment we provide, to helping the local community.

In 2003 APEX Medical’s founder, David Francis, supported Sue Doughty in the launch of APEX Counselling Services.

APEX counselling services is primarily a voluntary organisation, established to help people in crisis, or just in need of support, with a particular emphasis on those suffering from depression. The aim of this organisation was to reverse the trend of reliance on anti-depressants.

APEX Counselling is a unique service, requiring no set fee from the clients for counselling sessions provided and gained charity status in September 2005. APEX Counselling service has already helped over 2,500 people since starting out and plan to help many more people in the future.

APEX Medical still play an active role in the counselling service by contracting in services to aid staff members in moments of need/crisis, to run workshops on communication and other work/life skills and by sponsoring staff to attend fundraising events throughout the year.
